HealthShare Exchange Expanded Board Meeting

In May 2023, we invited guests into a special, expanded board meeting to introduce them to new services and value being offered across our HSX Value, HSX Quality and HSX Access business pillars and additions to our traditional HIE services, HSX Connect, that we will be available to our member soon. This event gave stakeholders from many of our largest member organizations the opportunity to learn about some of our new initiatives and hear from some of our fantastic vendor partners!

Our Featured Initiatives

  • HSX is working with other Pennsylvania HIEs to develop PA Navigate, a web-based platform that will connect Pennsylvania residents with social services. The platform will screen residents for social needs such as childcare, transportation, housing and/or food insecurity, and other needs related to social determinants of health (SDOH), and refer them to Community Based Organizations (CBOs) that can provide needed services.
  • In May, HSX successfully completed its second cycle of the NCQA’s Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) certification, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to excellence in healthcare data quality. This certification affirms the validity of clinical data shared through HSX can be used for quality reporting, value-based contracting, closing gaps in care and other initiatives.

Our Highlighted Vendor Partners

  • PointClickCare is a healthcare technology platform that enables meaningful collaboration and provides real-time insights at every stage of the patient journey. The platform is powered by data from acute and post-acute facilities, health plans, and more, including data from HIEs like HSX. In collaboration with PointClickCare, HSX data can be shared through the platform and delivered into the clinical workflows of users at the point of care to alert them of patient encounters. During this event, guests were able to see a presentation of PointClickCare’s Emergency Department Optimization solution, which alerts emergency department (ED) providers and staff with patient insights in real-time as they present in the ED. This allows for increased ED throughout and greater care collaboration.
  • HSX’s work with Benefits Data Trust (BDT) is focused on helping local residents across our region live healthier lives! HSX can identify if a patient qualifies for benefits and securely shares information with health providers. Our joint efforts are helping patients gain access to programs that can improve their daily lives and address SDOH.

Plans are underway for another expanded board meeting in early 2024. Stay tuned for updates!
