HealthShare Exchange Staff Join Discussions for the eHealth Initiative 2020 Roadmap

The eHealth Initiative 2020 Roadmap is a collaboration of leading healthcare associations, organizations, and federal agencies creating a shared vision of the strategies, policies, and actions that are required to fully transform our healthcare system by the year 2020.


 

On September 4th, 2014, Health Share Exchange’s Program Manager, Rakesh Mathew, Senior Director of IT, Daniel Wilt, and Health IT Architect and Domain Expert, John Donnelly, attended the 2020 Roadmap Executive Summit hosted by eHealth Initiative. The event brought together other leaders from key stakeholder groups, including provider, pharma, vendor, clinician, lab, and consumers, to discuss the future state of healthcare and the innovation needed to navigate the road to a healthcare delivery transformation plan.

The summit took place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., featured key presenters such as:

  • Karen DeSalvo, MD, the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, who oversees ONC (a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services);
  • Jennifer Covich Bordenick, Chief Executive Officer of the eHealth Initiative, who gave opening remarks;
  • and Sam Ho, MD, Chairman of the eHealth Initiative Board of Directors, who spoke on the importance of the road map.

The breakout sessions focused on the areas of interoperability, business and clinical motivators, and data access and use privacy.
