HSX Receives Healthcare Innovator Award

Thursday, October 22, 2015

HealthShare Exchange joined clinicians, researchers, and healthcare services and products companies and organizations on the healthcare-innovation award podium.

HealthShare Exchange exchange received the distinguished Health Care Innovator Award along with accomplished clinical and biomedical innovators and for-profit and nonprofit entities. The Philadelphia Business Journal recognized the advances that HSX has put in place in making healthcare information interoperable and available across the healthcare system.

Sandy Smith, publisher of the journal, mastered the ceremonies, bestowing the innovator distinction on 22 awardees that included L. Scott Levin, MD, Director of the Hand Transplant Program at HSX member Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; Anthony Coletta, President and CEO of Tandigm Health; and the Wistar Institute — among other impressive organizations, individuals, and products. The sold-out event at the Wanamaker Building's Crystal Tea Room in Center City Philadelphia was underwritten by sponsor Independence Blue Cross and co-sponsor Comcast, and included a well-attended networking reception before and after the presentations.

Martin Lupinetti, Executive Director of HealthShare Exchange, accepted the innovator award on behalf of HSX’s entire staff and membership, as well as its board and others who have volunteered their guidance and professional skills to the success of the exchange.  See Marty’s remarks for the award acceptance.
