AmeriHealth New Jersey is the newest insurer member of HSX, adding to the payer mix within the exchange. Part of the Independence Blue Cross family of companies, AmeriHealth NJ covers hundreds of thousands of lives in New Jersey. Seeking to improve healthcare quality and the health and wellness of its members, AmeriHealth NJ has a mission that complements HSX’s. The Delaware Valley Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society held its best-attended and most successful winter symposium to date on, January 18. Keynote talks were from Randall Gaboriault, CIO & Senior VP, Innovation & Strategic Development, Christiana Care Health System, and Lauren Hughes, MD, MPH, MSc, FAAFP, Deputy Secretary for Health Innovation for the State of Pennsylvania. Tracks in patient experience/engagement and innovation & technology generated insightful discussion among the region’s health information technology professionals. HSX staff, board, and associates helped to organize and present at this important meeting. Einstein Healthcare Network is the latest member of the regional exchange to go live with HSX’s Encounter Notification Service (ENS). Care coordinators and providers at Einstein now receive invaluable alerts when one of their patients is admitted, discharged, or transferred within the region’s hospitals and medical centers. - Video Illustrates Improved Patient Care Through Health Information Exchange
HealthShare Exchange’s latest video shows the ways HSX services improve patient care and the patient experience. The video explains how the services work, including the benefits of Encounter Notification and Clinical Data Repository in helping providers to deliver more informed care and significantly aid care managers in coordinating care. Integrated in the clinical workflow, this type of health information exchange makes care delivery more efficient, helps to improve care transitions, and aids in bringing smoother more-cohesive and less-stressful care to patients.
