HSX Update: Regional Exchange Adds First National Long-Term Care Provider

Participation from more segments and sectors –– and giving back –– mark this past month for HSX:
  • Genesis is First Nat’l Post-Acute Entity to Join HSX
Genesis HealthCare has signed a membership agreement with HealthShare Exchange.  HSX is happy to welcome Genesis as its first national provider of post-acute care and looks forward to providing clinical value to the services provided by Genesis, which operates more than 500 facilities nationwide.  Included in the membership agreement are Genesis facilities in West Chester, Pa., Wayne, Pa., and Philadelphia, as well as PowerBack Rehabilitation facilities in Center City Philadelphia and Willow Grove, Pa.  More Genesis locations are expected to follow.  HSX anticipates significant additions of other entities representing the continuum of care, including post-acute/long-term care, to its membership this year and in 2017.
  • Jefferson Primary Care Goes Live with Encounter Notifications
Jefferson University Physicians and Abington Health – Jefferson Physicians have gone live with HSX’s Encounter Notification Service (ENS).  Care coordinators representing this large number of primary care practices in the Greater Philadelphia area, now receive invaluable alerts when one of their patients is admitted, discharged, or transferred within the region’s hospitals and medical centers.  This set of physician practices, newly using HSX’s ENS, serves more than 250,000 patients.  The go-live increased HSX notification traffic by approximately 10,000 messages in the month of July 2016.
  • HSX Volunteer Day a Success
HSX held its second-annual day of community service in July.  HSX staff members turned out and rolled up their sleeves to assist the facilities team atMercy Career & Technical High School in North Philadelphia.  Read about the day of service and see the slide show!
