The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of The American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) is hosting its next event on June 19th at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Moderator:

Jonathan Sternlieb, MD, CMIO, Holy Redeemer Health System; Chair of the Quality Committee, HealthShare Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Inc.

Speakers:

Martin Lupinetti, Interim Executive Director, HealthShare Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Inc.

Michael A. Padula, MD, MBI, Medical Director of Informatics, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; member of the Technical Standards Committee, HealthShare Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Inc.

The presentation will include information on the HIE landscape in Southeastern Pennsylvania with the formation of a regional health information exchange.  Discussion will include the history of the exchange, its use cases, and plan for a future robust HIE.  Pivotal in this initiative is broad adoption, which will require education and outreach to the health care delivery organizations in the five-county Southeastern Pennsylvania region.
